The L'Arc Macau -- Asia's first all-in-one hotel, casino, restaurant and residential complex -- has selected H3C to build its network infrastructure and ensure that its business-critical information networks operate reliably and securely, 24x7.
Visible for miles, the L’Arc Macau is the tallest hospitality and entertainment structure in Macau as well as one of the industry’s most sophisticated users of information technology. The complex houses high-quality service apartments with comfortable and elegant clubhouse facilities, over 140 gaming tables and about 400 slot machines in the casino, 301 European-style hotel rooms, and a variety of F&B outlets.
Its new H3C-based network infrastructure provides it with a unified communication platform that brings together wired and wireless network communications to meet the ever-increasing communications needs of visitors.
The casino requires a reliable and secure network infrastructure to support data transmission and the gaming systems also need to be networked for reliability and statistical analysis. H3C provided the L'Arc Macau with a reliable and scalable solution to manage this large volume of data. It enables L'Arc Macau to handle mission-critical appliances without interrupting its business and also accommodate future developments.
“After evaluating a number of vendors, we chose H3C, for a variety of reasons -- including track record and the fact that it has achieved significant success worldwide and enjoys a significant share of the Mainland China market. H3C’s strong local support and R&D capability also gives us complete peace of mind,” said Johnny Chan, managing director of L’Arc Macau.
L’Arc Macau realized that, to achieve the seamless 99.999% reliability it was looking for, it needed a fully redundant network infrastructure. "H3C's Intelligent Resilient Framework (IRF) is one of the most advanced stacking technologies in the market. Network switches are stacked, increasing the performance and stability of the network so that the service can run smoothly,” said H3C product manager Ivan Wong.
L’Arc Macau’s criteria for its networks also included extremely strict reliability, durability and cost-effectiveness. According to Wong, H3C was able to fulfil them all with ease.
L’Arc Macau deployed H3C’s total networking solution with IRF technology at the hotel and the casino to create a high-speed network platform that provides high performance, high reliability and a robust secure functionality ensuring the network can be updated and services added without delay or interruption.
